Google announce a new operating system - a direct competitor to MicroSoft
Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we're already talking to partners about the project, and we'll soon be working with the open source community, we wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve

ubuntu 9.04
the latest version of the free Linux distribution is released today, and is even better than the the last 2. My PC is on the go most of the day, and the last 3 distros (that's 18 months) haven't even needed a re-installation; not that re-installing takes more than 1/2 hour.

Interestingly, Google shows 363 pages indexed on the site, and Yahoo shows 922
